How Your Contribution Is Used
Annual Contributions: The annual contribution maintains the member’s active status in the USC Retired Faculty Association and is used to pay for operating expenses and a contribution to the Emeriti Center in exchange for staff support. That support includes maintaining the RFA data base, recording financial data, answering phone calls and inquiries, handling RSVPs for RFA events, and supporting RFA events.
RFA General Fund: These funds are used to help pay for special events such as RFA participation in Homecoming and the Annual Holiday Party, Sherry Hours, and other activities offered to members. These contributions enable the RFA to expand its activities and services for its members.
Caldwell Scholarship: The Caldwell Scholarship was started in 1966 by the late Professor Russell Caldwell to support students from the USC neighborhood to attend USC. The program is now sponsored by the RFA and administered by the USC Financial Aid Office. Awards are $3,000 per academic year. Students are grateful both for the financial help and the expression of support from the retired faculty. This program enables retired faculty to be involved in supporting the larger community and education of the next generation.
RFA Endowment Fund: The RFA Endowment Fund was established in April, 2007 to provide long term support for the Retired Faculty Association and its members. Those who contribute are helping ensure that the RFA can continue to serve its members and the USC retirement community for years to come. Income from the endowment fund can be used to help with emergency needs and to expand RFA services and activities.
