Contributing to RFA

Annual Dues

The annual dues payment maintains the member’s active status in the USC Retired Faculty Association. Annual dues are used to pay for general operating expenses, events, programs and administrative support from the Emeriti Center staff. The Emeriti Center support includes maintaining the RFA data base, recording, depositing, and managing RFA funds, generating reports related to financial data, answering phone calls and inquiries, handling RSVPs for RFA events, and administratively supporting and staffing RFA events. The Emeriti Center prepares and distributes the Retiree Community Newsletter for both faculty and staff retirees.

In addition to paying annual dues, Retired Faculty Association members are encouraged to contribute to one or more of the funding accounts which sustain RFA activities. RFA has no other sources of income to support its activities.

General Fund

Contributions to the General Fund are used to help pay for special events such as Homecoming, the annual Holiday Party, Sherry Hours, and other activities offered to members. These voluntary contributions enable the RFA to expand its activities and services for members.

Caldwell Scholarship

The Caldwell Scholarship program was started in 1966 by the late Professor Russell Caldwell to support students from the USC neighborhood to attend USC. The program is now sponsored by the RFA and the USC Office of Financial Aid. Caldwell Scholars express gratitude for the financial help and for general support provided RFA members.

Robert P. Biller Retired Faculty Association Endowment Fund

The endowment fund was established in 2007 to provide long term financial support for the Retired Faculty Association and its members. Those who contribute are helping to ensure that the RFA can continue to serve its members and the USC retirement community for years to come. Income from the endowment fund is used to help with emergency needs and to expand RFA services, programs, and activities.

Members should specify on their checks which funding accounts their contributions are intended to support. Contributions should be payable to “USC RFA” and should be sent to:
